Plants for the production of polymer-modified bitumen (PMB/PMA)
Road surfaces are constantly exposed to stress and extreme weather conditions. Polymer-modified bitumen (PMB), or in some countries called polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) as a high-performance special binder is therefore used for roads with increase loads and greater traffic. PMB is a mixture of bitumen and polymer, which ensures the special toughness.
IKA’s PMB plants produce polymer-modified bitumen in a very efficient continuous process. In just one pass bitumen and polymer are mixed, finely dispersed and homogenized. The DISPAX-REACTOR DR 2000-PB inline disperser is responsible for smooth and precise homogenization in the process. The turnkey PMB systems are available in various sizes up to 30 to / h.
